Hautle Happenings – March 2023

May he grant you your heart’s desire

and fulfill all your plans!

Psalm 20:4

Even though our ministry is focused on designing materials, one of my favorite tasks is training others to use design software. I’ve had a desire for several years to conduct an in-person training. God granted that wish and allowed Jen and I to travel to Ontario, Canada, last month to train workers with Child Evangelism Fellowship® from three provinces for three days.

One benefit strategically is the large contingent of French-speaking workers that took part in the course. Since French is one of the CEF® major language groups, this will help more French materials to be translated and produced for world-wide use.

It was such an enriching and fun time, and as always, I learned new things while teaching.

We also got a chance to visit Second Reformed Church in Marion, NY, on the way, giving an update at the worship service and during Sunday School.

Around the time we were in Canada, the European Leadership Team met and asked if I could teach again in Europe. We are now in the planning stages of a full design software course in Romania in May—with which I’m thrilled. It will (Lord-willing) take place after the European regional team retreat, which I’ll be a part of, so it fits nicely together.

Present and future projects

Work continues on the latest camp packet, Esther, as well as the Youth Challenge book redesigns—three of which are currently in various stages of development.

It is the time of year for countries to submit their files for printing for the Boxes of Books program. We receive the PDFs and review each one to make sure it is ready for printing.

Other projects on the horizon include a new Christmas Together kit, materials for the Children’s Ministry Leadership Course and designs for a new preschool course.

So far, more than 125,000 backpacks distributed in Ukraine and surrounding countries, and 4 million Do You Wonder Why? booklets have been printed, most of them distributed.
The Ukrainian team was able to conduct many Christmas Clubs. One parent who attended a Christmas Club with his 4-year-old daughter said, “I was so ashamed I didn’t know these things before now. I didn’t know Emmanuel is a Name for God, I never made the connection between Adam & Eve and Jesus Christ. The plan of salvation was explained so that even the youngest person could understand it. May God work in every heart who was listening—parents and children.”

On the home front

A lot has happened since we last wrote! Amy got her learner’s permit to drive, and she’s about halfway to getting the hours she needs in order to take the test.

In November, we held a small surprise 50th anniversary party for my parents. It was so good to see family and long-time friends.

In December, Amy was inducted into the National Honor Society at Upper Dauphin High School. Christmas morning I preached at Echo Valley Grace Brethren Church, and we got to spend Christmas day with Jen’s mom, sister and brother-in-law.

In January, my father and I took a much anticipated trip to Mississippi to visit family—including my great-nephew, Jett. It was such a wonderful trip, and we were so blessed to have gone.

Things at church keep us busy—Awana, worship teams, youth group, helping with KidCheck and nursery. The growth at church has been amazing, and we’re grateful to be able to serve there.

Amy and Christopher have been accepted to be summer missionaries with CEF in Schuylkill County again this year. They are excited to serve once again!

Hautle Prayer Points – January 2023

January 11, 2023

Dear praying friend,

“…since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

War is devastating and destructive. It ruins lives and property. It destroys physically and psychologically. We see this in the nearly daily images and videos coming from Ukraine. How much more devastating a war against God is? But yet, through Christ we have peace with God! Praise God this message of peace continues to be proclaimed even in the midst of earthly war and destruction. Christmas clubs took place throughout Europe and boys and girls put their faith in Christ—the faith that brings peace!

PRAISES

  • Praise God for the many, many Christmas Clubs held across Europe. We’re rejoicing for the children who put their faith in Jesus and we’re praying this opens the doors for more church partnerships and a growth in Good News Clubs.
  • Several Children’s Ministry Leadership Courses were held last year in Romania, Germany and Ireland. Thank the Lord for more workers for the harvest field!

REQUESTS

  • Brent and his father will drive to Mississippi Jan. 12-13 and the return trip Jan. 16-17. Pray as they spend time with family, and for the Lord to give them safe travels.
  • Amy and Christopher are going on their youth group snow camp retreat Jan. 13 and will return on the 15th. Pray this is a spiritually enriching time for them and the 60+ teens, and for their safety.
  • We are putting together a trip for training in early February. Please pray for the details of this trip.
  • Work continues on the Youth Challenge manuals and the camp packet. Please pray for these items to get completed quickly.
  • Please continue to pray about the war in Ukraine—especially for the CEF workers still there and those who have fled the country. Pray for the Hope for Ukraine project bringing the Gospel to displaced children across Europe.

Thank you!  We greatly covet your prayers!

Hautle Prayer Points – June 2022

June 17, 2022

Dear praying friend,

Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Mark 16:15

Praise God for the young men and women willing to spend their summer to go and proclaim the Gospel to the boys and girls in Pennsylvania!
We leave tomorrow morning for CEF of PA CYIA training. It will be great to get together with the PA team, see the returning summer missionaries and meet new ones! We’re especially thankful for Amy and Christopher who will be serving with Schuylkill County this summer and are taking part in the training.
Pray as Brent gives the chapel message on Monday and that he will be a great help wherever needed. Pray for Amy and Christopher to be diligent in their studies and practicals.

PRAISES

  • Thousands of Hope for Ukraine backpacks filled with food, water and evangelistic materials have been distributed to Ukrainian boys and girls!
  • Many new items have been created for the Hope for Ukraine project, including prayer calendars and teaching materials.
  • Files for the 2022 Christmas Together campaign have been produced and distributed.
  • We are so grateful to have found someone to replace our broken door to the office. Please pray as it gets replaced in the near future.

REQUESTS

  • CEF of PA CYIA Training school, June 18-24. Pray for the scores of teens and young adults who will be taking part and then going out to preach the Gospel to boys and girls throughout the state this summer.
  • Continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine as they continue ministering to boys and girls in the midst of the war.
  • Pray for the Youth Challenge project that has re-started. Pray for great ideas in how to lay out the books as well as great ideas for the visuals.
  • Please continue to pray for several members of the European Multimedia team who are facing health difficulties.

Thank you! We greatly covet your prayers!

Brent, Jen, Amy and Christopher

Great is your faithfulness Lamentations 3:23

Dear praying friend,
Happy New Year! We taught this verse to the Awana Cubbies at church this past month. It’s a good reminder to go back and remember God’s faithfulness in our lives—during both the good and hard times.

New email address
We no longer have the Hautle.org website or any of the connected email addresses.
Brent’s personal email is bhautle@gmail.com.
Jen’s personal email is homeschoolmomjen@gmail.com
Please change these in your address books. Thank you!

PRAISES

  • For the many Christmas clubs which took place during the last month worldwide.
  • For a successful hour-long InDesign seminar through Zoom, which we hope to turn into a monthly event.
  • For good progress being made toward European Conference materials.
  • Brent is recovering from a second bout with COVID, which was thankfully not as severe as the first time he had it. The rest of the family have had no symptoms during their quarantine.
  • We have lots of everyday/every moment blessings. We thank God for these.

REQUESTS

  • The Survival Camp materials are our largest task at the moment. Please pray we can get them done quickly in time for translation to begin for this summer.
  • Preparations for European Conference and the ability to travel to Germany in April. Because of the ever-changing COVID situation, it’s difficult to make travel arrangements.
  • Design and layout of the Youth Challenge books is also a priority. Pray good progress can be made on them.
  • All of us are involved in Awana at our church. Please pray as we lead, teach, encourage and help these boys and girls.
  • Amy and Christopher are considering becoming summer missionaries with CEF of Schuylkill County. Please pray for wisdom as they work through the decision-making process for whatever they decide for this summer.
  • The outside access door to my office has ripped from its frame and the entire door and frame needs replaced. Thankfully it’s back in place, but cannot be used. We’ve contacted several contractors who have been too busy to even assess the situation. Please pray we can find someone to replace it. It’s not just an inconvenience, but a security and insulation issue.

Thank you! We greatly covet your prayers!

Child Evangelism Fellowship International – The Hautle Family

August 1, 2021

Dear praying friend,

You shall remember the LORD your God Deuteronomy 8:18

Happy Swiss Independence Day! The Swiss are remembering today when 730 years ago an oath was taken on a beautiful mountain meadow which gave birth to the country.
We’re remembering too, how God has worked these last few months. They’ve been tiring, but good. Thanks for partnering with us in prayer through moves, training courses, camps and a week away.
Tomorrow morning we leave early for our final week of day camp, traveling to Centre County. We’d really appreciate your prayers as we teach missions and help at the camp. Pray the children will get excited about missions, and especially for the salvation of any who don’t yet know Jesus.

PRAISES

  • Brent’s parents are moved in and getting settled. We’re thankful for safety during the entire move and were incredibly blessed with everyone who helped with the loading and unloading of the truck.
  • Christian Youth in Action® training was fantastic! We had a blast sharing the missions moment each day and getting to know the summer missionaries from all over PA.
  • Our week at a CEF day camp in Schuylkill County was very encouraging. The children were enthusiastic and we had a great time pouring into them. One boy who comes from an unchurched family was particularly inquisitive and asked many great questions.

REQUESTS

  • August 2-6 we’re helping and teaching at a CEF day camp in Centre County.
  • Because we’ve been away most of the summer, we have not had a chance to work on our office. We have two tasks left in order to finish it—flooring and trim. We’ve looked into hiring someone to do it, but anyone in the construction industry is booked solid for months. If you have trim and/or flooring experience and would like to lend a hand any time after August 8, feel free to contact us.
  • We have a large project—the complete redesign of five course books. We’d appreciate prayer for creativity and to get the work done in a timely manner.

Thank you! We greatly covet your prayers!

Hautle Prayer Points – June 2021

June 1, 2021

Dear praying friend,

And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life Deuteronomy 17:9

It was great to teach once again! Thanks for your prayers as the InDesign course went on these past three weeks. Teaching via Zoom, while having several advantages, proved a little difficult at times, but we’re thankful for patient students! One of the difficulties was juggling five different time zones. For some of the students, the course interrupted their dinner. For others, they would normally be going to bed when the course started.
We’re hoping God will mightily use what was taught to bring the Gospel to many more children in Europe and Asia—that the children will take hold of the Word of God and read it all the days of their lives!

The office continues to take shape. We’re grateful for the mudding and taping, which was done by a gentleman we got in contact with through one of our supporting churches.

PRAISES

  • The InDesign course went very well, and for the nine students and an interpreter who took part.
  • Our office is nearly completed—thank God for the help we got mudding and taping!
  • Amy is really enjoying her job at Sweet Treats—a candy and ice cream parlor in town.

REQUESTS

  • For the students who took the InDesign course, that they will be able to effectively use what they’ve learned.
  • Pray we can finish the office soon!
  • Tomorrow (Tuesday, June 1), Brent is traveling to upstate NY to help with final packing and drive his parents down to central PA. Please pray for:
    • Safety traveling up June 1.
    • All the details of the sale of the house in NY and the purchase of the one in PA.
    • We’re having difficulty getting a U-haul truck. We’re specifically wanting to go with U-haul as there’s a drop-off location minutes away from here. Please pray we can get that nailed down by Thursday.
    • The loading of the truck on Thursday night.
    • The drive down to PA on Friday.
    • Closing on Monday, June 7
    • Safety unloading that afternoon/evening.
  • June 19–24 we are taking part in CEF of Pennsylvania’s Christian Youth in Action® training school. Please pray we will be a blessing to the teens and staff!

Thank you! We greatly covet your prayers!

The Hautle’s – May 2021

May 2021
Dear praying friend,
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. Psalm 57:9
The Child Evangelism Fellowship® International Conference has just finished. It was a great time to connect with people digitally from around the world. One person wrote “I and my family are watching from a refugee camp in Uganda in the middle of the night.” Had we had a physical conference, they never would have been able to attend. Praise be to God for His provision!

We would appreciate your prayers during the next three weeks as Brent teaches an online course to students from nine different countries in five different time zones.

PRAISES

  • Praise God for an encouraging CEF International Conference, which took place digitally.
  • Praise God the new European promotional materials have been distributed.
  • Several men from church came to help with constructing an office in the basement. We are so very blessed by the work they did!

REQUESTS

  • For the course Brent is teaching May 10–28 via Zoom. Please pray for everyone’s internet connection, that it would be strong each day. Please pray too for all the equipment, that it will function well and not have any crashes or mishaps. Pray too for the interpreter, that she will not get weary interpreting for three hours each day. Finally, pray Brent will effectively equip these Multimedia students from around the world, that the ministry that have will result in many more children reading or hearing the Gospel in their heart language.
  • We are very close to finishing the construction of the office! Pray we can finish it quickly.
  • We are preparing for Brent’s parents’ move a few blocks from us either the end of May or beginning of June. Pray for all the preparations we have, for the sale of their house and loading of the truck, safety in their trip and a good closing and unloading.
  • June 19–24 we are taking part in CEF of Pennsylvania’s Christian Youth in Action® training school. Please pray we will be a blessing to the teens and staff!
Thank you! We greatly covet your prayers!

Hautle Prayer Points – February 2021

February 2021

Dear praying friend,
“I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud…” Isaiah 44:22
The other day the snow was falling so heavily, we couldn’t see the nearby mountains. That’s when verses like this come to life!
We’re so thankful for your prayers. You’ve been praying for us to be able to get a house for the last several months and Lord-willing, this afternoon we’ll be closing on a house in Elizabethville—please praise God with us! Please pray too as we’re moving over the next several days—we’re supposed to get hit with another snowstorm tomorrow.

PRAISES

  • A large ministry promotional campaign is nearing the finish line!
  • We were able to take a quick trip to see Brent’s parents this past weekend.
  • All the “little” ways God orchestrated the purchase of our house. To Him be the glory!
  • Amy and Christopher had a great and challenging time at our youth group snow camp.

REQUESTS

  • For our move this weekend—for safety of all those helping.
  • Amy and Christopher will be changing schools. Please pray for them as they adjust to new routines, teachers and classmates at Upper Dauphin.
  • For Jeff’s children Hannah (and her husband Josh) and Collin, still dealing with Jeff’s loss.
  • Creativity in several large projects—especially for a complete redesign of the Youth Challenge materials.

News From The Hautle’s – December 2020

December 2020

Dear praying friend,

“And His name shall be called … Wonderful Counselor … Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

There is nothing more fitting than these words right now. To have a Counselor who hears our prayers and heals our hearts and to have a Prince of Peace who brings comfort during trials.
COVID finally caught up with us. While Jen and the kids had little or no symptoms of it, Brent was hit very hard, and it ended up turning into pneumonia.
When Brent was at his worst, we received word his brother Jeff passed away suddenly—what a shock. Jeff’s wife passed away nearly two years ago and we mourn especially for their children. But we’re grateful—Jeff is with his Savior! That takes so much of the sting away, and the Prince of Peace has certainly been our peace.
We hope that this Christmas, you’ll experience the peace of Immanuel—God among us!

PRAISES

  • Even though we couldn’t travel to the funeral, we were able to watch a live stream of Jeff’s service—and the Gospel was clearly presented.
  • Brent is recovering well.
  • Jen and the kids recovered quickly.
  • The final Multimedia Summit session went very well, with lots of participation and enthusiasm.
  • The latest Good News Club® resource pack was completed and distributed.
  • Amy was able to lead a child to Christ at AWANA.

REQUESTS

  • For Jeff’s children Hannah (and her husband Josh) and Collin as they face life without their parents. Please pray for all the legal issues they face and that they would continue relying on God to be their strength.
  • For us and my parents as we continue to grieve.
  • We are still looking for a house to purchase in the Millersburg area.
  • Creativity in several large projects.
  • Please pray as we continue to adjust as a family to our new surroundings. Pray especially that Amy and Christopher can make friends with other believers.
