Questions for Study:

  • Read Psalm 73 in connection with Psalm 37
  • What is the age-old question with which they deal?  (Hint, see Jeremiah 12:1, Malachi 3:13-15)
  • How does the indulging or fretting at the wicked make believers unfit for worship?
  • How is fretting/jealousy at the prosperity and seeming impunity of the wicked such a powerful platform for Satan to tempt Christians to other sins?
  • In Psalm 37, by the Spirit, aged King David (v. 25) testifies what he has long observed of the Lord’s dealings with His people and with their enemies.
    • What roles are seasoned believers meant to play in the life of a congregation?
    • How do those who fail to honor, consult, and listen to their elders (those senior to them) deny themselves a wealth of practical knowledge?
  • What is the common focus in all of David’s commands in this Psalm?  See vv. 3-7, 27-28, 34
  • Without using the words, Psalm 37 sets before us two worlds, one visible/apparent, and one invisible/reality.  What are those two worlds?
