Questions for Study:

  • Please be sure to read Isaiah 9:1-7; 11:1-10 in connection with chapter 32. They describe the Prince of Peace’s Anointing, character/attributes and practices/administration. You see an instance of Isaiah’s prophecy realized in Jesus’ ministry in Matthew 12:15-21.
  • The difference between Jesus’ peace/shalom and the world’s peace is the difference between resurrection/new life and a truce in hostilities. Explain.
  • What is the connection between righteousness/rightly ordered thought/life, & peace?
    • Hint: see Ephesians 2:11-18; Philippians 4:4-9; Hebrews 12:7-17; James 3:13-18.
  • Besides maintaining a clear conscience (Acts 24:16), what must be done to maintain ongoing quietness of spirit? See Isaiah 26:3; Luke 10:38-42.
