Many new beginnings!

Ethnos360 Bible Institute Sign

Today is OPENING DAY for the new Bible School year! (and we have a new name: Ethnos360 Bible Institute.) Many Freshman just arrived and the excitement is high for what God has planned to teach all of us in this new year!

Today is Reece’s first day at his first full-time job! He drove off this morning to work for a year at a furniture store where he will be delivering and assembling. His plan is to save enough to be a student here at Bible school by next year! We are excited for all God has planned to grow him in this year!

This week Dave will begin his 9th year of full-time teaching God’s Word. What a privilege! He will also be commuting one day a week to seminary to take a class.

This week starts my change of ministry. For 8 years I worked in the school’s mail room, but now I will begin serving one day a week in child care and also front desk receptionist. I’m glad to work with the student’s babies and little ones so that the mom’s can be full-time students.

Another new happening is that Clark will start high school (homeschooling with me) in about 2 weeks. Reece enjoys happily reminding him that he has 4 more years of school;)

God is GOOD and His plans of growth for us are good. On to a new year!

Dave & Kim Field February Update

That was a fun football game to watch…

But the best part was when the students decided to use the half-time to turn off the game and use that time to pray for a very special people group in Papua New Guinea.

The Mali-Baining people group, who have been taught by the missionaries the story of creation up to Christ, will be taught about the cross TODAY!

Now THAT’S a Victory being celebrated in heaven!!! A victory that will last for eternity!

Please pray that the Mali-Baining people will understand and believe what they hear today.
Celebrating with you,
Dave, Kim, Reece and Clark Field

Dave & Kim Fields December Update

Today was a big day for Dave!

Today is the last day of the semester here at Bible School. Dave finished up Galatians and Romans, so It’s a sad day for him, who bonds with the students and then it’s transition time again.

What will he do now? Well, for one, next week is his own finals week for the class he is taking at Seminary. That’ll keep him hopping. After he aces that, 🙂 he will be preparing messages to teach for the missions conference he was invited to be a speaker at in Thailand. (in one month from today!)

So that is a little wrap-up of Dave’s life in a nutshell. 🙂
Thank you for praying for my man,
Kim for us 4

Our family loves it that we get to adopt a girls dorm and guys dorm as our own family for this whole year. We love building friendships which lead to discipleship and all the many amazing blessings that brings our family. These young people are thirsty for learning and fill us to the brim with joy as we all learn and grow together.

Thank you for praying for us in this brand new year full of adventure and opportunitites!

Dave & Kim Fields End of Summer Update – July 2016

Three top favorites of this summer…

Yes! Students are headed this way to begin the FALL SEMESTER here at New Tribes Bible Institute, so its time to wrap up summer. Here are 3 of our main events of this Summer:

  1. Dave and I went away on a week trip to celebrate our 20th Wedding anniversary!!! We feel beyond blessed to have each other in our adventure of life!
  2. Our family vacation this year was a canoe trip into back-country where we camped in God’s beautiful creation!
  3. Big News...Dave is going back to school! He will continue his normal teaching here at Bible School every day, and at the same time he will take one class per semester at a seminary near us. He is super excited to learn a ton and apply it to his daily teaching.

Thank you for your prayers for us as we transition from summer to the arrival of our incredible students!

Dave & Kim Field’s Spring Break (Missions Update)

Spring Break was amazing!!

Three things happened for our family:

1) We got to travel to Pennsylvania with our Bible School Senior class for a week at NEW TRIBES Mission TRIBAL MISSIONS experience.
2) We got to visit my sister Vicki in Pennsylvania and spend Easter weekend with her family!
3) Our boys had birthdays!!! Clark turned 13 and Reece turned 17!!!

That Tribal Missions Experience was special!! We got to live with our 40 students as they got a huge eye full of what it would be like to be a missionary in a tribal setting!

There were classes on how to learn a culture, and a language. We entered a large room that was decorated like a village with some missionaries painted black and speaking a different language, and it was our job to try to learn a few of their words! The classes on understanding peoples world view and how to live in a tribal setting were so real! The students got to butcher a pig and cook it in a hot pit in the ground, sleep in hammocks in primitive cabins, and walk a 3 mile hike past 18 waterfalls. It wasn’t all work and no play though…We enjoyed volleyball, playing games together late, and of course enjoying delicious food. It is hard to describe that week, but the students were shown the heart of the Lord for people groups who have never had a missionary yet. They came away with a much clearer picture of where there are needs, what New Tribes missionaries do and what it could possibly be like for them to be tribal missionary. Reece said “I’ve never been so proud to be a New Triber!”
