Highlights from the Lord…

May the Lord lead your hearts…

into a full understanding of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. (II Thes 3:5)

FIVE ways God has used Dad’s cancer to teach us to trust the Lord more:

  • God gave Dad a specialist in his exact kind of cancer! HE is exactly amazing!
  • Dad talks about the Lord with any medical staff around him. What an example!
  • I got to share the gospel in my college speech class. Following dad’s example!
  • Dave shared the gospel to the propane shop worker! Following dad’s example.
  • We want to put a spotlight on the Lord when someone asks how Dad is because…

HE IS WORTHY!

What else has been happening with us?

We had a large group of young people come to visit Ethnos Bible Institute! They stayed in the dorms, went to classes and loved what they saw! Many of them will be returning as students in the Fall!

We got to travel to western Wisconsin to speak at a church last weekend. We sure enjoyed the company of those believers and getting an opportunity to shine the spotlight on the Lord!

This past weekend Dave got to speak at the church family we are a part of here in town. It was an opportunity to give the pastor a well deserved break! Dave loves every opportunity to open the Word and teach verse by verse!

Dave is also teaching two hours per morning here at Bible School. The class now is called Christian Life..where the nuts and bolts of their two years comes together for the Seniors.

God is also being so faithful and true in the lives of our sons! He is blessing them as they seek to honor Him daily in whatever way the Lord asks of them.

All my life He has been faithful. All my life He has been SO, SO GOOD!

Thank you for partnering with us and loving us and praying for us!

God’s peace….

exceeds anything we can understand

We were able to get out for coffee with Dad before we left back to Wisconsin and it was fun making good memories! Please be praying for my parents as they found out that Dad’s cancer is called Mesothelioma. They need wisdom as they make decisions about the treatment plan. And they truly need His peace which passes all understanding! God is showing Himself faithful everyday.

It’s strange getting back into life at EBI.

It feels like our heart is in two worlds! I’m sure the Lord will help us balance them both with His wisdom. It would be nice to live closer to mom & dad, but I am thankful I can hop on a 2 hour flight and be with them when they need me to come.

Back here at EBI:

  • Dave is teaching Christian Life to the Seniors…I can’t believe grad is coming up in May!.
  • I am helping prepare students to host 40 or so visitors coming next week for a campus visit!

Thank you for your prayers for our family! We are leaning on the Lord and finding Him faithful everyday!

Ethnos 360 – News from the Field’s – February 2023

Please pray for travel safety

As 60 of us are driving to Missouri!

The reason to take all these students to our missionary training:

  • To introduce them to the amazing cross cultural missions training our mission offers them.
  • To allow them to sit in classes, live in student housing, meet students and staff.
  • To bring the world needs before them and show them how they can be a part.
  • For worship, good food, new experiences, and time in the Word in a beautiful lakeside setting.

Thank you for praying for all of us this weekend!

I am so very thankful to get to go on these student adventures with Dave by my side! What a fun joy to have a life partner in Dave!

I will fill you in next week on all the ways the Lord blessed and encouraged and directed, and protected all of us! He is good!

What a privilege!

What an incredible responsibility to teach the Bible every day!

Dave spends a lot of time studying the Word well! The Lord helps him teach all that truth in a way that is easy to understand, and applicable to daily life. God blesses his efforts as the lights come on for the students! It’s a wonderful thing to see them fall more in love with the Lord!

News from the Field’s – December 2022

MERRY CHRISTMAS family at 2nd Marion!

We can’t thank you enough for your gift of taking care of us financially or in prayer this year.

The Lord is using you with your prayer support and financial sharing, to help provide for our physical needs each day,

and we want to thank you with all our hearts.

Is there any way we can be praying for you in this season of life?

God has again been so amazing to us this year!

He has blessed us with encouragement and strength from His Word.

He has gifted all four of us with good health all year.

He has shown His perfect faithfulness as we bring Him our requests.

He has guided us in conversations and relationships with students.

He has given us wisdom as we pour into our grown sons.

He has given us peace as we watch Him put together His plans in His ways.

He has given sustenance as we complete tasks well that He has entrusted us with.

He has given us direction as we lay our questions in His lap.

He has given us joy as we look back at his minute-by-minute faithfulness and we look forward to the adventures of His continued faithfulness.

We are here delighting in Him as we take one step by one step trusting Him, leaning on Him, keeping our eyes on Him as we take His light burden as He carries us on this adventure called life.

He is truly amazing, and we give Him praise and glory.

News from the Fields – November 2022

Represent Jesus in each of our

 spheres of influence.

Recently Dave & I joined about 70 students on a trip to Ethnos Missionary training Center in Missouri. It was an exposure trip for them to see what next steps could look like for them.

We got to have deep and important conversations with our vanload since it was 9 hours one way!

We got to worship with the students there, plus sit in amazing classes like:
Global perspective
13 stages of church planting
case studies relating to culture
intro to learning an unwritten language
Missions in closed access settings
and much more!

We had the gift of a Thai meal where the missionaries taught us about Thai culture and how to eat in a Thai tribal setting. They told us how important it is to learn their language and culture before presenting the gospel.

We were able to spend time with the students there and ask all sorts of questions about the training they are experiencing right now! What are they learning in classes, what is God teaching them?

All of the students there are put in groups led by two staff families during their duration at training. They become family to each other and pray together, study together and play together. All of us from EBI were divided into all the small groups and were able to experience the genuine love in those community groups. It truly is a special thing!

God is so AMAZING and SO worthy to be praised! And we are so grateful to be partnering with you as we all reflect His light in our little spheres of influence!!

Come see what God is doing

in hearts and lives here at

Bible School!

Hi-lights from this month:

I was just enjoying sitting in Friday worship chapel for all the students. (If you are ever in the area, you are invited to come sit in the daily chapel at 10:00.) I got chills when the whole auditorium full of young people was singing “I know You by a thousand names and you deserve every single one. You’ve given me a million ways to be amazed at what you’ve done, and I am lost in wonder at all you do.”

Another hi-light is that we have been praying for 50 visitors to come to the next campus visit weekend, and so far, we have 38 coming! Did you know that 1 in 3 visitors come back as students? We are trusting the Lord to bring the exact people here who He knows should come.

God gave me a precious gift this month when I got to join my parents on a bucket-list vacation to upper Michigan! We saw many lighthouses, beautiful Fall colors, and the cherry on top was enjoying Mackinaw Island! God is so very kind to give us such sweet memories together!!

God is SO VERY good! We feel so blessed and thankful that we get to serve our KING, surrounded by a world of young people, who are falling more in love with HIM every day!!

At this minute Dave is teaching Romans 6 to a large room full of young people. Please pray that He will continue to trust the Lord for words, wisdom, and clarity every day as he teaches important truths from God’s Word.

Thank you for being our prayer partners, supporters and teammates!

Look at this amazing team of

staff here at EBI !!!

We are so very blessed to be a part of an amazing team of staff here at Bible School…

We all love being a part of what the Lord does in the lives of all the students in their 2 years here…and beyond!!

We are 100 percent invested in their hearts and seeing them learn more about the Lord,

falling more in love with Him, and desiring to serve Him their whole life long.

Thank you for supporting Dave & I by praying and sharing with us financially so we can live

here among the students and be used by Him in these precious lives.

The new semester began on August 20th!!!!!!

It’s going to be an awesome year!!!

Family News:
We had a beautiful family vacation in Michigan, and were so thankful to be together before Clark moves into the dorms here at Bible School in FOUR MORE DAYS! We are thrilled for him as we know how incredibly special these 2 years will be! Please pray for all 4 of us as we settle into new normals.

This weekend we will be at the campus doors, along with many others, welcoming the Freshmen and their families here with open arms! Please pray for the 120 Freshmen as some of them are leaving home for the first time. The energy and speed of life here at Bible School is high and fast-paced and they will be swallowed up with the excitement. Please pray for everyone as they find their new friends and settle in.

Please pray for Dave as this Sunday morning he will be giving the sermon at our church, and then that night he is one of the speakers for the semester kickoff  here at school!! Dave will be teaching Bible School classes two hours everyday until Christmas! He will also be taking a 3 credit Romans class in seminary during that same time:)

Please pray for me as I can’t seem to remember names quickly. I want to welcome people well, and I need a fast brain for names and good conversation with lots of new faces! I work in the mobilization department, and many of these new students are here because of a campus visit they came to last year. This is super exciting for our team to see the fruit of our labor and prayers!

Thank you so much for you prayers for our family!!! You are so appreciated!!!

New from the Fields – May 2022

The Senior class spoke about what the Lord has taught them…

God is so good!

We truly want to thank you for supporting our family as we live and serve here among these students and this Senior class. We are so honored to be up close to watch the Lord in the lives of these students. The Seniors recently spoke of some of what the Lord taught them in their two years here. (photos below)

18 days until Graduation!

Please pray for our Seniors:

  • Some are already being sent by their church to start missionary training this Fall.
  • Some are returning to their sending church to build relationships before being sent by them to missionary training.
  • All of them know God’s heart for the world and are ready to continue to be His light to the world as He leads them to their next step.

God has done amazing work in their lives in two short years. It is absolutely incredible to watch their growth and to be a small part of their lives here at Bible school. If you know of anyone who would be interested in Bible School, send them our way. Click the blue button below for more information.

The Senior class raised funds for sending one of our staff couples to serve overseas. They asked Dave to recreate his timeline from one of his classes, and they put it on shirts to sell. That was super special!!

Thank you for partnering with us financially every single month so that we can have this amazing opportunity!

Thank you for praying, loving and supporting our family,
Dave, Kim, Reece & Clark Field

The Field’s – February 2022

Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

What a wonderful missions emphasis week we just had here at Bible School!

It’s no small thing when 200 young people hear and understand about God’s heart for the world and for those who have never had the chance to hear the good news…ever!

“Plan like you are going, until God tells you to stay.”
“Be involved in God’s whole reason we are here on earth…to bring Him glory and make His name known throughout the world.”
“Go, or help send those who are going, and take opportunities wherever you are.”

Please pray for our students as they consider everything they heard this week and offer their lives up to the Lord. He is worth it!

We have a campus visit weekend in one week! We have 36 visitors registered and we are praying and trusting the Lord to bring in 50 visitors! We want them to see what the Lord is doing here. We want them to hear God’s heart for the world through all the classes they will sit in on and through the amazing community of students here.

“If we are so amazed at what God has done for me, let’s share it with someone else!”

We are so very thankful to partner alongside you as HE advances HIS Kingdom!
