Presented by Dr. Mike Hutchings of Global Awakening Ministries
There are a great many people walking among us with the unseen wounds of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It may be related to military service or any number of traumatic situations that a person has encountered. The results can be devastating in terms of the pain experienced and often the inability to enter into life fully. Some may “tough it out”, trying daily to work past the pain and lead as normal a life as possible. Others may just shut down, not able to connect emotionally in healthy ways or finding themselves unable to enter into the normal things in life. New Covenant and Healing Rooms of Rochester are presenting this two day program to help equip those ministering to victims of PTSD. We believe this conference will help pastors, counselors, those involved in healing ministry or anyone desiring a deeper understanding of how to minister spiritually to those suffering from PTSD.
Our presenter, Dr. Mike Hutchings, has 35 years of pastoral and church planting experience including being a “pastor to pastors”. His experience crosses a variety of church cultures, including Baptist, Vineyard, “seeker-sensitive”, and charismatic Mennonite. He was part of a city-wide pastoral leadership team in Peoria Illinois that facilitated significant transformation in the city through the power of prayer and unity. Mike has also worked as a licensed behavioral therapist in private practice counseling and was clinical coordinator for a counseling program serving homeless and runaway youth and their families. He is currently the Director of Education for Global Awakening. He directs the Global School of Supernatural Ministry and the Global Certification Programs.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Judson University, a Master of Divinity in Counseling from Northern Seminary, a Doctor of Theology from Phoenix University of Theology and is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary. The subject of his dissertation is “Treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Through Reproducible Spiritual Strategies.” This dissertation documents the many cases of post traumatic stress disorder (military and civilian) that Mike has seen healed through the power of healing prayer. He has also conducted “Healing PTSD” training seminars throughout the country, training prayer ministers, clergy, chaplains, and counselors to utilize a healing prayer model to bring healing and restoration to those suffering with PTSD.
Mike is passionate about helping pastors and leaders to connect throughout the body of Christ, coming together for the transformation of their cities and equipping others to minister healing and wholeness. He travels to churches and conferences near military bases in the United States equipping the church to minister healing to those who suffer from PTSD. He has been married to his wife, Roxanne for 33 years, and has three children and three grandchildren.
